2015 Pan Am Archery Events to be held at Centennial Park in West Toronto

On the right is a photo of Centennial Park in West Toronto - the site which will host the archery events for the 2015 Pan Am Games.

The Toronto Public Archery Range in contrast has no bathrooms, no electricity, and no parking facilities large enough to host all the necessary visitors.

And while you might ask "Why don't they just build all the necessary stuff?" the answer is budgetary constraints and time constraints.

It would take too long to put in electrical lines and build sewers under E. T. Seton Park (the location of the archery range). Let alone find the space to build a parking lot.

So you might think, wait, does this mean Toronto will have TWO archery ranges when the Pan Am Games are over?

Nope.

The archery targets will be ripped out of the new range. Possibly even thrown in the trash. Wasteful.

What would be nice is if they moved the Pan Am archery targets to the Toronto Public Archery Range - so that local archers can still benefit from equipment that would have otherwise been tossed out.
